It was indeed a bright and sunny day, Wednesday, 15th May, 2019. The school had prepared itself to receive blessings as the term began, and this was through the Eucharistic Celebration -the Mass. Just as it is a custom for the School to have Mass on Wednesday every fortnight.
Mass, in Roman Catholic Church, is the principle liturgical service that includes the scripture and Eucharistic services. Both pupils and members of staff attended the opening school Mass of term. The Mass lasted for one hour, 12.00 hours to 13.00 hours.
Mass was celebrated by Fr. Alick Phiri, the Parish Priest for St John’s Parish in Kabanana which is the nearest parish.
In his Homily, Fr. Alick emphasized on the privilege of being at this School. He stressed that the pupils should make good use of this privilege. He urged them to study hard and look up to God in life.He concluded by wishing God’s blessings to both the learners and staff. He expressed his gratitude for having been invited to celebrate the opening School Mass for term 2.
The next Mass will be on Wednesday, the 29th May, 2019.
